Coraki Museum is housed in the historic Woodburn Shire Council Chambers and contains an extensive collection of local artifacts, memorabilia, family histories and photographs from the earliest white settlement. There is a comprehensive maritime history section along with an outdoor shed containing farming and ship building equipment.
The War Memorial room contains the Honour Boards from many of the village halls around the district including the exquisite WWI Bungawalbin board, hand carved with a pocket-knife by the mother of one of the soldiers.
First established in 1985, the Mid-Richmond Historical Society has enjoyed enthusiastic support from many knowledgeable locals and faraway friends. The volunteers will happily assist with your family re-search and direct you to the many books written about the area.
Open Wednesday and Saturday 10am-3pm.
Coraki Golf Club
Nestled in the heart of the Richmond River Valley, Coraki Golf Club has been a cherished part of the community since its establishment in 1926. Originating from dense Ti-trees around the historic Coraki Showground, the course’s early days were characterised by sand greens meticulously fenced to safeguard against grazing cattle. This area, was also a village common, and because of the large water hole (near the present 8th green) locals would keep their livestock on the property.
Today, Coraki Golf Club features sweeping, undulating fairways that make for a pleasant and relaxed walking experience. A strategic tree planting program, including slash pine, bottle brush, and eucalyptus trees along the fairways and in clumps, has added to the course’s beauty and challenge. Spanning 6045 meters, the course is both picturesque and demanding.
It’s an all-around great country golf club with a course of 9 holes and 18 tees.
Waterlines Gallery

The Waterlines Gallery, on the banks of the Richmond River, is open to the public and acts as a studio, retail gallery outlet for her own work, as well as a classroom for aspiring artists of all ages and abilities.
Coraki Healing Stones and Riverside Walk
The Coraki Healing Stones were created by artists and volunteers as a tribute to reconciliation between culture and environment. They were constructed and installed over a two-month period using local clay by Goonengerry artist Suvira McDonald. Volunteers were involved in workshops with the Environmental Science Department of Southern Cross University and learnt about environmental and cultural issues in the region.
During the workshops volunteers were involved in tracking animals which resulted in an exhibition called “Tracks”. This led to different tracks being added into the Healing Stones. The director of the Lismore Regional Gallery asked if the workshops could be continued to create a public artwork. The main feature of the piece are the stones themselves. These were inspired by scarred bark which was used as shields by local Aboriginal people. During the opening of the Healing Stones, community members created tiles which now form a pathway down to the stones. Volunteers from the workshop and Richmond Valley Council helped to install the artwork, which has survived various floods since its instalment. In 2018 the piece was restored with the help of Richmond Valley Council.
With other sculptures and artistic works, and a landscaped river beach, the Coraki Riverside Walk is an enjoyable way to enjoy the beauty of the Richmond River while admiring the work of local artists.
